Welcome to Oyez Shetland Sheepdogs! We are located in Lake Elmore, a tiny and magical lakeside village in central Vermont.  It was love at first sight when I saw my first Sheltie puppy over 20 years ago.  My first few Shelties were pets and trained in obedience. During that time, I had a great mentor in canine husbandry in my late friend Bonnie Faye.  Bonnie of Bonmar Shelties and Junie Reid of Tambay Shelties took me to my first dogs shows, allowed me to help with puppies and eventually taught me everything I know about whelping puppies.

Along the way, I met Judy Kelsey of Dury Voe fame, who kindly allowed me to own Dury Voe Imperial Bravado, AM. Can. CD.  He was a very special dog who taught me about the soul of dogs.

Then came, Brigham, Ch. Abbotsford The Talisman, bred by Sonia Carringer, another very special dog and my first conformation dog.  He brought a special friendship into my life and the thrills of my first champion. Through Sonia, I acquired Sarah, my foundation bitch, Quincy City Serenade.  A wonderful beginning for any breeder as she produced a Champion in each of her first two litters, Am. Can. CH. Oyez Wild Is The Wind (Fiona), and Ch. Oyez Talk Of The Town (owned by Sonia Carringer and Barb Light), as well as Can. Ch. Oyez Against The Wind.

Each of my dogs has led me to new and cherished friendships.  On a trip to visit Sonia, I met Heidi Jacobson of Darmil Shelties.  A few years later, Heidi and her husband Pete moved to Vermont and two years later when they moved west again, left behind Darmil Above It All, co-owned with Heidi and Jen Milani.  This cutey is currently residing with Jen in Delaware.

Now I have my third generation at Oyez with up and comer, Jake, Oyez Darmil Drop Everything and I can’t wait to see where his show career takes me.

Breeding, training and showing Shelties is my joy and I take the responsibility of producing healthy, typey puppies very seriously.  My numbers will always be limited so that I can always give maximum attention to every dog in my home.  I treasure the friends I have made both at shows and with my puppy buyers.

And lastly, special thanks to Jen Milani for the special friendship we have and for this website.

I hope you enjoy your visit here!
